Consumer Awareness

I got an e-mail from a friend today saying that Thomas' English Muffins are now labeled that they are made without High Fructose Corn Syrup!

You may have see the ads lately on TV where they are trying to down play the danger of high fructose corn syrup. They claim that it is just like regular sugar, but its not. It is metabolized differently by the body than just regular table sugar and it messes with your blood sugar levels.  You can read more about it here:  http://www.westonaprice.org/motherlinda/cornsyrup.html

Also I saw in a Family Circle magazine just this morning....Campbell's soup was knocking Progresso...
They had all the ingredients listed for both soups and they highlighted on the Progresso soup Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) and Texturized Vegetable Protein (another form of MSG).

MSG is classified as an "Excitotoxin", which means that in literally excites the cells in the  brain to fire and fire and fire etc...until they burn out, never to regenerate. It "may" be the cause of neurodegenerative diseases such as MS, Parkinson's etc.

MSG is one of the most toxic chemicals we can consume and they hide it in many of our foods...at one time (back when we were kids) they even put it in baby food to enhance the taste!

Well I don't want to get started on my soap box so I'll stop here... I am just glad that the word is getting out to the mainstream community about this unhealthy substitute!

Rating=5  MSG
Thank You for the post about MSG and Testurized Vegetable Protein. I was not aware of the other EVIL ingredient. MSG effects me in a bad way. I get heart palpatations,headaches and an all over sick feeling.
